Technical Specifications

Why Choose TOOPRE Fishbone Housing

• 56% Lighter Than Standard Housing — At just 22.3g/m, the aluminum alloy segmented housing weighs less than half of a conventional brake cable housing (50.9g/m), saving valuable grams on every build.
• CNC-Machined Aluminum Alloy — High-strength, high-hardness segments resist compression and deformation for crisp, consistent shifting and braking feel.
• Anodized Surface Finish — Vibrant, fade-resistant colors that stay looking fresh ride after ride. Six color options to match any frame or build theme.
• Universal Compatibility — Works with both mountain bike and road bike brake and derailleur (shifter) cable systems. One box covers one cable group; two boxes required for full brake + derailleur installation.
• Oil-Injected Inner Tube — Pre-lubricated liner reduces friction for smoother cable action and longer service life.

What's in the Box

Total weight: approx. 109g per box.

Easy Installation

1. Cut the oil-injected inner tube to the desired length and heat one end with a lighter to flare the mouth, preventing the segments from slipping off.
2. Thread the aluminum alloy segments onto the inner tube in the same direction, then heat the other end to secure.
3. Route the assembled housing continuously from the shifter/brake lever to the derailleur/caliper.
4. Install the inline barrel adjuster at the midpoint of the housing for on-the-fly cable tension tuning.
