RISK RL106 Bicycle Fork Star Nut Installation Tool – Steel Star Fangled Nut Setter for 28.6mm MTB/Road Bike Steerer Tube

The RISK RL106 is a complete star fangled nut (star nut) installation tool for bicycle fork steerer tubes. It lets you drive a steel star nut straight and centered into the steerer on the first try — clean, level installs without crooked or damaged nuts. The kit includes a blue anodized aluminum driving sleeve, a steel alignment sleeve, an M6 pull rod with locating screws, plus a steel star nut and spare locating screws as a bonus.

Key Features

All-in-one kit – driving sleeve, alignment sleeve, M6 pull rod, locating screws and star nut included, ready to use.
Straight & centered installs – the alignment sleeve keeps the star nut level so it seats evenly inside the steerer.
Durable build – high-strength steel with blue anodized aluminum sleeve, built for repeated shop and home use.
Simple operation – works with a standard rubber mallet or steel hammer; no press or special tooling needed.
Compact & light – roughly 100g, easy to store and carry.
RISK brand – private-label authorization available (Model RL106).

Compatibility / What It Fits

For steel fork steerer tubes with 28.6mm outer diameter (1-1/8").
Installs fully plated steel star nuts / star fangled nuts.
Fits MTB, road, urban and gravel bikes with steel (alloy) steerer forks.
NOT for carbon fiber fork steerers — hammering can damage carbon.

Notes & Cautions

Steel steerer tubes only; do not use on carbon fiber steerers.
Use with a rubber mallet or steel hammer — some hardened steel star nuts need a steel hammer.
After cutting the steerer tube, file the cut edge flat before installing, or the protruding edge may block the alignment sleeve.
Strike carefully and wear hand protection while hammering.
Dimensions and weight are hand-measured and may vary slightly; for reference only.
This listing sells the tool only; the bike/fork shown in images is not included.
