RISK Bicycle Hydraulic Disc Brake Caliper Piston Side Cover Removal Tool for Shimano XTR M9200 / M9220 / R9270

The RISK Caliper Side Cover Removal Tool is designed for servicing bicycle hydraulic disc brake calipers. It is used to remove the piston side cover on compatible Shimano calipers, making brake maintenance, cleaning, and repair easier and safer.

Made from durable aluminum alloy, the tool is lightweight, compact, and easy to operate. The tool features a 10 mm / 3/8" drive interface, allowing it to be used with a compatible ratchet wrench or torque wrench. The recommended maximum torque is 20 N·m.

Different versions are available for different caliper models, including M9220, M9200, and R9270. Some versions include an auxiliary positioning block to assist with proper removal.

Installation / Removal Notes

• The tool is designed with a recommended torque limit of 20 N·m.
• If the side cover cannot be removed after reaching the torque limit, the cover may have thread-locking compound applied.
• In this case, it is recommended to heat the side cover with a 200°C hot air gun for 2–3 minutes before removal.
• Do not use excessive force, as it may damage the side cover or the tool.
