Overview

Measure and compare spoke deflection during bicycle wheel building and truing.

Read the mechanical dial

The tool applies force at the spoke contact points and the dial shows the resulting deflection. Take readings from comparable positions and use the chart for the spoke’s diameter or profile to convert readings to tension.

Workshop features

The aluminum body has a mechanical dial and two wood handles. Use the chart included in the detail images as a reference for the listed spoke types. Check the wheel and rim makers’ recommended tensions before adjusting nipples.
