Overview

Hold a compatible round bicycle tube while guiding a hacksaw through the cutting slot.

Tube selection

Measure the outside of the round section you intend to clamp. The guide spans 15 to 37 mm and is shown with round steerer, handlebar and seatpost sections. A shaped tube or a part with an unusual surface may need a guide designed for that profile.

Guide construction

The T-handle moves the clamping block against the tube and the stainless steel plate provides the blade slot. The hollow aluminum body is shown secured in a workshop vise. Choose a blade and cutting procedure suitable for the tube material and follow the component manufacturer’s instructions.

Technical specifications

Clamping diameter range is 15 to 37 mm. The guide measures approximately 36 × 113 × 49 mm.

The guide combines an aluminum alloy body, a stainless steel guide plate and a T-handle clamp.
