Overview

Seat compatible headset crown races on a bicycle fork using the driver tube and the adapter that matches the race.

Choosing the race adapter

Match the adapter to the crown race seating diameter, rather than the nominal upper steerer size. The straight-fork example uses the 30 mm ring, while the tapered examples show the appropriate ring combination for the larger race. Confirm the race and fork dimensions before fitting.

Workshop setup

The long driver slides over the steerer and transfers force to the selected ring. The kit is intended for a crown race that is installed separately from the fork. Use the headset and fork makers’ installation guidance, particularly for a split race or a fork with an integrated crown race.

Technical specifications

The set covers 30 mm straight and 33 mm or 39.8 mm tapered crown race interfaces shown in the source illustrations.

Includes a stainless steel driver tube and aluminum alloy rings. The driver tube is approximately 280 mm long.
